TIVERTON BRANCH BEGINNERS COURSES
VENUE: UPLOWMAN VILLAGE HALL, TIVERTON

Tiverton Branch are running a Beginners Course at Uplowman Village Hall, Tiverton, starting at 7.30pm on 14th October 2009, finishing March 2010.

There will be 10 sessions, 5 before Christmas and 5 in the New Year.

The course will cover:
  • A general introduction
  • The colony - queens, workers & drones
  • The hive & its components
  • The history & origins of bees and hives
  • The beekeeping year
  • Swarms, their causes & prevention
  • Queen rearing
  • Pests & diseases
  • Bee plants & hive products
  • Getting started
