Devon is one of a number of Counties affected by Varroa resistance to pyrethroid based treatments.

In the past year the Devon Beekeepers Association has organised meetings throughout Devon with the support of the National Bee Unit and the Regional Bee Inspector to inform members of alternative methods of controlling Varroa, particularly Integrated Pest Management.

Varroa resistance is an ongoing problem but the Devon Beekeepers Association is taking active steps to inform all its members of the current methods of control. These methods will be illustrated in a video being produced by a professional video maker employed by Devon Beekeepers Association.

This video is initially intended for Devon beekeepers, but as the problem of resistance will become nation-wide, the Executive Council of the Devon Beekeepers Association has decided to make it available to anyone at cost plus postage and packing.

The video is available at an inclusive price of £7.50.
